In support of its mission, the people founding FGATA have been, and will continue to be, hosting and participating in events of different types. The people involved in the creation of FGATA have been participating in and doing events that let kids use interactive software such as Voice Painter™ which allows them to be creative in positive ways, consistent with our mission. Another mission-relevant aspect of events is the opportunity for girls to volunteer and give something back.
Previous events that we and our volunteers have been part of include those hosted by the NY National Guard:
Party in support of our Thanks4Giving Program at Suspenders Restaurant in Manhattan.
The event was planned to support The Thanks4giving Program which was created to allow people, especially young people, to show their gratitude and appreciation to those serving us in the New York State Air Guard 106 Rescue Wing. We thank the Family Readiness group of the wing and our many sponsors that supported the program in various ways.

Holiday Party at Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, NY.
The children of NY National Guard soldiers, some of whom are being deployed in Iraq, created voice-painted greeting cards that they took with them as gifts. (The paintings created by the kids can be seen at www.voicepainter.com ) A very special volunteer, Emily, from Fontbonne Academy Hall in Brooklyn, did a great job interacting with the kids. Our special thanks to Emily, and to Principal Sister Delores of Fontbonne, for their help and interest. (Emily, by the way, has offered to volunteer for future events - so much the spirit we look for and encourage at FGATA.)
Holiday Party at Gabreski Air Base, Westhampton Beach.
The event was held for the 106th Rescue Wing of the NY National Guard. The children of soldiers, some of whom are deployed in Iraq, created voice-painted greeting cards that they took with them as gifts. (The paintings created by the kids can be seen at www.voicepainter.com ) Two volunteers from Westhampton High School that assisted at the event were Adoree and Jackie – they did a wonderful job of interacting with the kids, and helped make the event a happy success. Our sincere thanks to them, and to Principal Kaswell and Pat Cardo, for their interest and support.
Our thanks as well to Lisa D’Agostino of the Wing Family Program whose support has been outstanding.
They all helped make our participation in the events a success.
FGATA will be hosting and participating in events throughout 2009 in support of The From the Heart Card Program and its mission. Please check with us periodically to find out when and where these events will be. You can send us e-mail and we will let you know about events as they are scheduled.
